This research project is a re-examination of Heinz Isler’s paper “New Shapes for Shells” in which the potentials of emerging fabrication techniques are explored for creating shell structures. This approach utilizes CNC milling to create rigid form-work that approximates the geometry of fabric-formed structures with improved feasibility.
